Golf Gala
Friday 19th March 2027
This event is held in conjunction with EISM’s Annual Tennis Open event and is run at the Glen Waverley Sports Hub.
The EISM Golf Gala Day will include the following competition categories for both male and female participants:
- EISM Golf Individual Champion (Male & Female): Awarded to both the male and female players with the lowest gross scores of the day.
- EISM Golf Champion School (Open & Female): Recognising the premier golf school in the association, determined by the lowest aggregate gross score from a team of three players.
Entries
Each school may enter the following
- A team of the school’s best three male golfers (can include female golfers for those schools that don’t enter a female team)
- A team of the school’s best three female golfers
- Any additional individual golfers entering the individual event only
Competition Information
- The event is an ‘Open’ event, meaning that students from Year 7 to 12 are eligible to enter.
- The event will be managed by the Golf Professional at Glen Waverley Sports Hub. They will be supported by appointed Tournament Referees.
- School Support: Competing students must be under the supervision of school staff for the duration of this event.
Championship Rules & Guidelines
All matches will be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf established by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, supplemented by the following conditions of play.
Handicap and Caddies
- Players must have an official Australian handicap and a Golf Link number (or be in the process of obtaining one). It is recommended that handicaps of competing players are no higher than 20, to allow for a suitable speed of play across the duration of the event.
- Caddies/coaching are not permitted. The penalty for violation is disqualification.
Scoring
- The Tournament Manager will provide scorecards for golfers to manually fill out, and then swap with their playing partners. The
- Following completion of the round, completed scorecards will be handed into the ‘Results Desk’ in the Pro Shop, where scoring will be completed.
Adverse Playing Conditions – the competition with proceed in all weather conditions except in the following cases:
- The host course declares the course unplayable.
- A suspension of play is declared by the appointed referee at Glen Waverley Sports Hub.
Competition Regulations – Individual Event – 18 Hole Gross
Format & Determining Winners
- Separate competitions will be conducted for Males and Females using gross scores.
- A seeded draw based on player handicaps will be prepared by Glen Waverley Sports Hub
- The winners will be the competitors with the lowest aggregate gross scores over 18 holes.
- In the event of a tie in either the Male or Female individual 18-hole stroke event, a sudden-death playoff will determine the winner.
- If a tie remains for minor placings, a countback will be used.
Competition Regulations – Teams Event – Stroke Play
Format & Determining Winners
- Teams consist of three players.
- Separate competitions will be conducted for Open (mixed teams permitted) and Female categories using gross scores from the 18-hole stroke event.
- The event will be a Double Par Stroke Play Format. This means that once a golfer hits a double par score on any given hole, they must pick up their ball and move to the next hole. For example, on a Par 3 hole, the golfer has a maximum of 6 shots to hole the ball.
- Teams consist of three players.
- Separate competitions will be conducted for Open (mixed teams permitted) and Female categories using gross scores from the 18-hole stroke event.
- The event will be a Double Par Stroke Play Format. This means that once a golfer hits a double par score on any given hole, they must pick up their ball and move to the next hole. For example, on a Par 3 hole, the golfer has a maximum of 6 shots to hole the ball.The team with the lowest aggregate gross score over 18 holes will be declared the winner.
- In the case of a tie, results will be determined by:
- Aggregate stroke scores over the final 9 holes.
- If still tied, aggregate scores over the final 6 holes.
- If still tied, aggregate scores over the last 3 holes.
- Complete ‘EISM Gala Day Entry Form’ and email to office@eism.au. Member Schools will be invoiced per student after the competition.
- Complete the Participants Form and email to office@eism.au approximately 1 week prior to the competition.
